Personal payments
International property transfers.
Discuss every stage.
A personal introduction for the foreign exchange and payment requirements of buying or selling property overseas.
Ravenscourt Currencies Limited acts as an introducer to Sciopay Ltd. Foreign exchange and international payment services are provided solely by Sciopay Ltd, subject to eligibility, availability and its terms.
Property deposits, completion balances and sale proceeds.
An overseas property transaction may involve several transfers: a reservation or deposit, a completion balance, or the conversion of sale proceeds into another currency. Each stage can have a different amount and deadline.
Ravenscourt discusses your requirements and introduces you to Sciopay Ltd. Sciopay provides the regulated foreign exchange and payment services and confirms eligibility, verification requirements, available routes, rates and charges. Ravenscourt does not hold client funds or execute payments.
The legal process belongs with your solicitor or conveyancer. Ravenscourt does not provide conveyancing, legal or tax advice.
What to discuss before moving property funds.
- The currency you hold, the currency required and the amount for each stage.
- The property’s country and the expected deposit or completion dates.
- The beneficiary and payment reference required by your solicitor or conveyancer.
- Source-of-funds and transaction documents that Sciopay Ltd may request.
- The quoted exchange rate, disclosed fees and expected amount reaching the beneficiary.
Allow time for account opening and checks before a contractual deadline. Do not send funds using instructions received solely through an unexpected email; confirm the intended beneficiary through a trusted contact channel. Do not upload identity documents or bank details through the Ravenscourt enquiry form.
Exchange rates and payment timing.
Can a rate change before completion?
Yes. Exchange rates can move between agreeing a property price and arranging the currency exchange. Discuss the options available for your circumstances rather than assuming today’s rate will still be available later.
Can a rate be agreed for a future date?
A forward contract may be available through Sciopay Ltd, subject to eligibility and terms. It is a binding commitment and can involve a deposit, further funding or cancellation costs. It does not guarantee a better outcome than a future spot rate.
Can sale proceeds be transferred back to the UK?
You can discuss an introduction for converting and transferring proceeds. The source and destination countries, currencies, ownership of the funds and supporting documents must be checked by Sciopay Ltd. Availability and timing cannot be assumed.
Start with your currencies, amount and expected dates.
Request a callback or call 0121 769 3735, Monday–Friday, 09:00–19:00. An enquiry does not create a payment contract or reserve a rate.
