Business payments
Overseas supplier payments.
A personal introduction.
Discuss foreign-currency invoices and international supplier payments with a dedicated Ravenscourt contact.
Ravenscourt Currencies Limited acts as an introducer to Sciopay Ltd. Foreign exchange and international payment services are provided solely by Sciopay Ltd, subject to eligibility, availability and its terms.
Planning a payment to an overseas supplier.
A business buying goods or services from abroad may need to pay an invoice in a currency other than sterling. The invoice amount, exchange rate, charges and payment date all affect what you need to arrange.
Ravenscourt discusses your requirements and introduces your business to Sciopay Ltd. The regulated foreign exchange and payment service, including account opening and verification, is provided solely by Sciopay Ltd. Ravenscourt does not hold client funds or execute payments.
This may be relevant to importers, manufacturers, wholesalers and businesses purchasing services internationally. Supported currencies, recipient countries and routes must be confirmed for your particular payment.
What to have ready for the first discussion.
- The invoice currency and amount, supplier’s country and payment reference.
- The invoice due date, any deposit or staged payments, and expected future payment frequency.
- Your business details and the reason for the payment.
- Any questions about the rate, charges, expected receipt amount or payment timing.
Sciopay Ltd will confirm the beneficiary information and supporting documents it needs through its account-opening and payment process. Please do not put bank details, identity documents or sensitive financial information in the Ravenscourt enquiry form.
Questions to ask before agreeing a transfer.
What will the supplier receive?
Ask for the exchange rate and all disclosed charges, and check the amount expected to reach the beneficiary. Intermediary or receiving-bank charges may affect the final receipt, depending on the route.
Will the payment meet the invoice date?
Confirm the expected timing before committing to a deadline. Funding, cut-off times, banking holidays and verification checks can affect a payment. No delivery time is guaranteed on this website.
What if the invoice is due later?
You can discuss the available foreign exchange options. A forward contract, if available, is a binding commitment rather than a promise of a better rate. Sciopay Ltd confirms eligibility and terms. Read our foreign exchange service explanations.
Discuss a one-off or recurring supplier payment.
Request a callback to discuss your currency, amount and timing, or call 0121 769 3735, Monday–Friday, 09:00–19:00. An enquiry does not create a payment contract or reserve an exchange rate.
